To all clients of The Blueprinter,
It is with regret that we announce, effective immediately, The Art Colony and The Blueprinter will cease to offer reprographic services. We have decided to turn to our Art Supplies Department and expand the lines and services offered by The Art Colony and end the operations on the copy/print/plot side, The Blueprinter. The economy has had a great impact on the customers that utilize our reprographics services and we have found that our expenses have far outpaced our revenues in the reprographics department.
For those of you who have been loyal customers and friends for parts of the 30 years we have been doing your printing, copying and plotting, we thank you for your many years of loyalty and support and hope those friendships continue. We have worked out an arrangement with the folks at All Valley Reprographics in Thousand Palms to transfer all of our compatible archived files to their system. They will be contacting you to explain their services. While you are under no obligation to use their company for your reprographic needs, we feel confident that they will be an excellent choice for you. If you wish to have your files transferred or removed from their system, all you need to do is call Jimmy "Bobo" Finch of All Valley Reprographics on his cell at (760) 408-1808 or their office at (760) 343-5090. We are arranging a "drop-off/pick-up" service during the transition period, here at our location.
The services we are discontinuing include plotting, copying, color printing and scanning. We will remain a full service Art Materials Retailer. Under the banner of The Art Colony, we will continue to sell an expanding full line of professional and student supplies for the fine, graphic and hobby artist. For those of you in the architectural and engineering community, we will continue to carry drafting supplies and a selection of plotting and drafting papers to meet your needs.
With an end of one phase of our company comes the expansion and revitalization of the other part. What we are most excited about is the conversion of what was the print room into a studio/classroom. We plan on holding events, demos, classes, exhibits and anything else we can think of to support and enhance the growing artists' community here in the Coachella Valley. We are looking for teachers and students alike to utilize our new facility for their classes and other events. Please contact us with your suggestions and interest.
As for the accounts that we have for your charging of services and supplies, to allow for work in progress and work as yet undelivered to be charged to your accounts, we will keep our 30 day active accounts open until February 28th. We will then prepare our statements showing your final balances which will be due and payable by March 31st. We will then close all accounts to charging and deactivate accounts upon payment in full. We will maintain all the records should anyone need copies of old invoices. We will shortly thereafter offer convenience accounts to customers, which will be secured by a valid credit card to be kept on file that will be charged every 30 days to pay for the accumulated purchases of supplies.
Sincerely,
Mark S. Wiener, President
